Our guest speakers for this social event are Lars Samuel Samuelsen and Ingrid Garmo, a couple visiting Kansas from Norway. Lars, a Major in the Norwegian Army, is currently a student at the Command and General Staff Officer College (CGSOC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Lars is from Lyngen in northern Norway, and Ingrid is from Lom in the central-southern part of Norway. Their presentation will focus on current security issues for Norway, Norway's cooperation with the United States, and cultural similarities and differences between the two countries. Maihaugen Lodge and the Scandinavian Association of Greater Kansas City enjoyed hosting Lars and Ingrid at our respective Christmas events this past December.
This is a joint social event for members and friends of Maihaugen Lodge 1-665 (Sons of Norway), the Scandinavian Association of Greater Kansas City, and area Scandinavian clubs and enthusiasts.
