Our guest speaker will be Major Simon Østerby from Denmark. Simon is currently studying the Advanced Operations Course and a Master of Military Art and Science at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth for the 2025 - 2026 school year. 

Simon has been in the Danish military since 2008 and deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, and twice to the Baltic countries. 

The topic of the talk will be Tactical, operational, and strategic levels of conflicts through history and experience: Why alliances matter more than ever. He will talk about interoperability, partnerships, what alliances look like on the ground, not on paper. 

The Scandinavian Association of Greater Kansas City enjoyed hosting Simon and other Scandinavian officers at our Holiday Dinner this past December. We are looking forward to this opportunity to meet with him again.
