Enjoy a fun day out starting with taking a short train ride on the Missouri River Runner from Union Station to downtown Lee’s Summit. One of our members suggested this outing and he will be there to meet us at the Lee’s Summit train station.

There’s lots to do including:

• Easter Parade from the new Green Street Farmers Market

• Local shops and the Farmers Market will be open

• Restaurants, coffee houses and breweries

• The Lee’s Summit History Museum featuring Civil War, James-Younger Gang and Longview Farm exhibits

An Amtrak ride will cost about $11.00 each way.
The trains leaves promptly at 8:40 am and returns at 4:05 pm. The journey is about 30 to 40 minutes. You can also take bicycles on the train (with a reservation) and even ride back to Kansas City or your home if you like. It’s advised to get your tickets online early so the price will not increase.
